At OpenLabs, we are dedicated to making independent research more affordable and accessible by putting biotechnology tools directly in the hands of innovators. Whether you are a student, hobbyist, or entrepreneur, our doors are open to anyone with an idea and the curiosity to explore and create.

Membership

Membership at OpenLabs will be offered through a tiered, needs-based pricing model starting at $125/month. Our goal is to provide members with a shared laboratory space and essential microbiology equipment for bacterial handling and basic cell culture workflows, along with common reagents, refrigerated storage, and tools for gene and protein quantification.

OpenLabs is a nonprofit initiative, 100% of all donations are reinvested directly our shared laboratory, equipping it with the essential tools our community needs. Contributions of any size help bring us one step closer to making this mission a reality.

Donate Equipment

OpenLabs is primarily supported through donations of surplus laboratory equipment from biotechnology and life sciences companies. If your organization is interested in contributing equipment or resources, we would love to connect.
